Indian PG students to get 5-year Post-study Work Permit in France
A bachelor's degree student was only permitted to stay in the country if he/she could get a full-time job after graduation. Especially when talking about India, Countries like USA, UK and Canada, were the most preferred destinations by Indian students.
France currently only allows 2 years of PSW for students who are pursuing on Masters's degree. However, The Strategic partnership between India and France has brought Great news for Indian students. While addressing the Indian diaspora in Paris at LA Seine Musicale, PM Narendra Modi on his last visit to France announced that Indian students who are pursuing master's degrees will now be eligible for a 5 years post-study work permit. Apart from this major decision, the Government of France also signed an MOU with NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) to Adopt UPI as a new payment technology, which would allow Indian students to carry transactions via their Indian bank accounts in INR without converting it to any other currency. France has been home to some of the top institutions in the world like HEC Paris School of Management, Insead and more, and this will now benefit more Indian students to get top-class education and will expose them to a plethora of new opportunities. Masters students will now be able to directly apply to PR after staying in France for 5 years.
From the past stats, approximately 10000 Indian students in 2019 chose to study in France and applied for a France student visa. As this announcement spreads, the country is expecting a surge in interest in admits this year. The immigration rules are also expected to be relaxed for Indian students as well. Indian students will now be able to get 5 years of work experience which will help them to be a part of the French workforce. The students will also bring their culture, their festival and tourism from India.
